Remembering One of the Most Humble Person I've Ever Met

By Lakwatserong Tatay

ROGER GUZMAN
1975 - 2010

As i write this entry of mine, Im part of the mountaineering community that shares the same feeling about what happen to a friend of every mountaineer....... I really hope where ever you are...Kuya, Manong, or Sir Roger...you may rest in peace with the side of our Lord...you will be forever remembered by all of the mountaineers & backpackers.....especially who have met you personally.....

Just want to share some moments with Kuya Roger, as i remember, way back 2007...My 1st time to summit the Mt. Pulag.....he is a person that you could easily to talk with, our organizer done a very smooth transaction with Kuya Roger, especially when it comes to bring you to Mt. Pulag Ranger Station.....and just resently this year my 2nd time to go to Mt. Pulag, i had the chance to talk with him, and get his number for my next plan to climb this mountain together with my son.......but sad to say with this news.....really shocked me....and as a backpacker, I'm really grateful and thankful that I've met Kuya Roger and been part of his life even for just a short while. I really hope and pray that justice will be served and the one who did this will get what he deserved! We are behind you Kuya Roger in every step of the way. May your soul rest in peace and we thank you for everything and for becoming part of our journeys.

For the complete details of Kuya Roger's incident, you may check this entry of Sir Gideon Lasco,
