Paterno St., Libid, Binangonan, Rizal
by lakwatserong tatay
This was part of our Trekking Basics:
Mt. Tagapo, Talim Island in Binangonan, Rizal. I was the first person to arrived at Pritil Port. So what did i do is head first to one of the famous church in Rizal to pray for our safety and have a safe trekking activity. And of course, one of my favorite
A town located between the foothills of a mountain range and the shores of a bay must make Binangonan an idyllic municipality for tourism. Highly-urbanized and on the verge of cityhood, this town located 37 kms from Manila is crafting its own identity to distance itself from its more popular neighbors in the province of Rizal, namely Angono and Antipolo City.
Such simplistic and rather pastoral background gives Binangonan that quaint charm as a quasi-urban area whose rural origins cannot be shed just easily. This same trait makes it a favorable option for tourists looking for old town charm.

Sta. Ursula Parish Church |
Sta. Ursula Parish Church is a 200-year-old church which has been structurally preserved and restored for its historical significance. It was originally a chapel built in the late 15th century by the Franciscan missionaries to gain access to the native settlements around the Laguna Lake. By the 17th century, it was expanded into a big church to shelter its growing parishioners. It was completed in 1800 through the help of a barangay decree which compelled all delinquent male taxpayers to voluntarily work in the church’s construction.
