Weekend Getaway: One Night of Food and Bar Trippin' in Vigan

by lakwatserong tatay

It's been a day of full adventure and bountiful food trippin....i thought by night time our journey and adventures would end, but it was not....it was always getting dark and it quite raining...Jek (segment producer) told us...mahilig ba kayo sa street dining...meron din dito sa Vigan nun...So on our mind, it food trippin again....yahoooo...!!!!
Los Majitos de Vigan
The weather that time was not quite on our side, how we could enjoy our street dining experience, if it is raining outside...so the group decided to hangout for awhile and rest for a moment...

And at last the rain has stop, Los Majitos has a very young chef, who prepared us rice topping cuisines, were some of us tried it. There's a table that has a wide range of choices for your combination and the young chef will prepare it for you...sorry to forgot to ask  the name....hehehehehe!!!

Here are some of my shot while having street dining experience in Los Majitos....ala Mercato & Pancheto...hehehehe!!!!

We had three sets of table with complete full course meal, we had a also a choice from a wide range of beverages and alcoholic beverages, absolutely for free....siyempre sponsorship toh eh...hehehehe...

All of us have full stomach, due to plenty of dishes serve to our tables....you just have to select what combination do you want....promise...masarap lahat....

After our street dining dinner experience, we had some photo shoot just across Los Majitos....this was maybe the effect of some alcoholic drinks we had while eating...wahahahahahaha!!!!!

And after all our activities on Los Majitos, i wouldn't miss the opportunity to have photo opps with the restaurant owner. Ms. Sheila Marie Medina, my photo opps with bro....drew arellano and of course the lakwatserong tatay's self portrait photo....hehehehe...
It's me with Ms. Sheila...
Drinking by street with Drew....^_^

After few minutes, we move and proceed on our next destination, a food trippin experience again. This time is one of the Vigan's Pride....Empanada....infact i remember while we're walking around the streets of Vigan because it's just few houses away from Los Majitos, together with Drew, he told us, everytime he or together with his friends and family, he goes to this store...just to buy Empanada...according to him this is best Empanada in town...."Irene's Empanada".

Irene's Empanada
Upon arriving, Drew already went inside and greet a lady, she was the store owner, i wasn't able to take shots because, we had also to take video shots that will be included in the show episode, we had the chance to meet the owner, and infact she was the one who teach us how to make our own Empanada....

The store was just like a normal carinderia, although it is quite big for a carinderia, as i estimate it could cater 40-50 guests....an open type kitchen, where you could see how your Empanada made....astig...hehehehe...

Here is one of our still shots while making our own Empanada. Sad to say my Empanada was not as perfect as Johari because it opens while i dropped it a very hot cooking oil....hehehehe....We thought Drew would also try to make his own Empanada...ang daya....

After our teaching and cooking session, eating session followed....hehehehe.....we used our Empanada us for the cheers part our Vigan episode....hehehehe...pero promise ang sarap niya...

How to get there:

Irene's Empanada is located near Calle Salcedo near the corner of Calle V. de los Reyes
(if you are coming from Cafe Leona, walk along Calle Crisologo and turn left at Calle Salcedo, you will see on your left after the corner Calle V. de los Reyes with Gordion Hotel as the landmark and after Insiang's Emapanada, also one of the best Empanada and Okoy makers in Vigan).

After a day of food trippin, we thought our day would end and just go straight back to our hotel and call it a day, but wait there's more....grabe talaga experience namin dun....panalo....hehehehe. We go back to our hotel, Vigan Plaza Hotel, we rest and stay for few hours because our next shoot would we really late night.

Legacy Super Club
Who said that in a declared UNESCO heritage site, a club would be rising.....this club is owned by one of Chavit's son...that would make the heritage village also busy by night.....^_^

Bar's entrance....
We arrive at the bar, with just few guest inside, maybe we just arrive early and we're introduce to club manager, boy we're so surprise, how modern it was inside, we just felt like we are in the bars and clubs in Manila....complete with modern facilities, with a dj in the house (as seen below...si kuya DJ...hehehehe), bar station and chairs and table.....^_^...one thing that this bar makes me wow is build within the heritage site, the facade of the club look like the old and heritage house you can see along Calle Crisologo and the place seemed soundproofed as we we're outside the bar, we did not even hear any loud music but as you go inside.....it's party time.....hehehehe....^_^
the DJ's of Legacy Super Club
Being the guest in house, we are treated special, we had the chance to drink the club's special mix of drinks...as you can see below, one of the cameraman making video shoot while the bartender making a mixture of different rhums and liquours...we we're also given the chance to taste the best dishes and pulutan's on the house....that's one of a kind experience....hehehehe...^_^

We just have a few drinking and dancing session that night and enjoy most of it. Because tomorrow will be a new day and another travel mission will be next....so we have to be ready for our next day adventures...
How to get here:

Legacy Super Club is located along Calle Crisologo, as you walk from Cafe Leona, it is just few meters away and located on left side part of Calle Crisologo.

So watch for out for the remaining for my remaining Weekend Getaway Series (Vigan Episode)......^_^....
